The stakeholders were invited to a meeting at Clwb Hwylio Pwllheli Sailing Club to consider a joint response to the ‘Gwynedd Council Pwllheli Harbour maintenance dredging strategy’ prepared by consulting engineers ARUP and dated 25th March 2015.
Copies of the Draft Strategy had been circulated to the stakeholders with the meeting invitation.
Those present confirmed that they represented their respective organisations and it was concluded that we were all likeminded and approved a joint response to the report.
The Strategy was welcomed and the stakeholders asked that the report’s conclusion could be implemented as soon as possible as a full suite of measures required to provide a credible maintenance dredging strategy for Pwllheli harbour.
The group concluded that the reports presentation and future usability would be improved if the conclusions on page 39 were repeated as part of an Executive Summary at the beginning of the document with an indication of a timetable for the actions outlined and to include the following bullets:

In an awards ceremony last week at Plas Menai, RYA Cymru Wales presented Stephen Tudor with a Special Contribution Award for his work at Clwb Hwylio Pwllheli Sailing Club and the huge personal contribution he has made in the development of the new Welsh National Sailing Academy and Events Centre at Pwllheli.
Stephen has been a member at Clwb Hwylio Pwllheli Sailing Club since the age of 8, has been on various committees since an early age , has been Honorary Secretary for many years and was Commdore between 2012 and 2014.

Four-time Laser World Championship medalist Nick Thompson has hailed the Optimist European Championships as “the event that started it all for me” as Great Britain prepares to welcome the regatta for the first time ever this summer.
British Sailing Team star Thompson, the first Brit to ever win the Optimist Europeans title in Athens in 1999, was speaking as the Optimist Europeans prepare to make their debut on British waters at Pwllheli Sailing Club, North Wales from 17-24 July 2015. It will be the first event hosted by the new Plas Heli Welsh Sailing Academy.
